the corporate gift people actually keep

most branded gifts are opened once and left in a drawer. a few get carried every day for years. what separates them is whether the object earns its place on its own, before anyone notices the logo.

01 / rulesthree things to decide by

half of all corporate gifts end up in a drawer or passed along. the reason usually isn't the brand a company picked. it's that the gift misses one of three conditions, and it needs all three at once.

rule 01

value without the logo

would this earn a place in someone's life even with no logo on it? if not, the logo won't rescue it.

44% prefer subtle branding over a large logo

rule 02

low friction

it slots into a routine from day one, not once someone finds a use for it. the less deciding around a gift, the sooner it gets used.

a small story

02 / materialthe part "eco-friendly" can't do

"eco-friendly", "sustainable", "climate neutral" - from 2026 those words carry legal weight in the eu. the empowering consumers directive restricts vague environmental claims on products and packaging unless you can back them with evidence. a corporate gift that leans on a soft green label is exactly what the rule is written for.

a specific, checkable fact holds up in its place. our wallets are made from dupont™ tyvek, a high-density polyethylene (the same number 2 plastic as a milk bottle), so they're recyclable, water-resistant and vegan. the tyvek itself is made in luxembourg, and every wallet is printed and folded by hand in prague. that's a line a procurement or esg team can put in a report without flinching, and if you account for procurement emissions under csrd, the material details are simple to hand over.

it reads on the object, too. the design prints across the entire surface in full colour, so the whole wallet carries the brand edge to edge, artwork and all, rather than a logo stamped into a corner.

03 / fitwhen a thin wallet works as merch

a wallet isn't the automatic answer. it fits when you're after a gift in the €20-60 range per person for a moment where a daily-carry object makes sense: a conference, onboarding, a client thank-you, a team milestone, a company anniversary. for a mass consumable or a single vip piece, other categories sit better.

if a wallet is already on your list, three reasons it wins over other categories:

reason 01

made and shipped from the eu

the run is printed in prague and posted from inside the eu. for a buyer anywhere in the union that means no customs paperwork and no import surprise: the price you agree is the price at the door.

reason 02

useful and distinctive at once

"practical" and "original" are the two things buyers ask a corporate gift to be, and usually settle for one. a daily wallet in your own design answers both in a single object.

reason 03

economics a cfo follows

from €15 a piece for something carried for years. on a budget line it reads better than five consumable gifts that are gone by the end of the week.

ready-made designs

for inspiration: the ready motifs from the shop. a corporate run can start from any of them, or from your own artwork.

if that combination fits your budget and your moment, here's how to start a run with missinghue.

04 / abouthow to start with missinghue

missinghue started because the thin wallet we wanted to carry every day didn't exist, here or abroad. we make it by hand in prague from a fully recyclable material that's vegan and water-resistant. room for 8+ cards inside, notes lie flat, and a strap on the outside holds one card for quick access - a transit pass, a hotel key, a parking card. six designs from the founder, a 24-month warranty, delivered across the eu with no customs papers. the whole run stays with one maker and one point of contact, from the brief to dispatch.

the first corporate run made the case for this. investown wanted a gift for their whole team, so we printed 250 wallets in their own design. we sent a sample first to be sure the colours held against their logo, then folded and delivered the whole run to their prague office ahead of the deadline.

05 / faqfrequently asked questions

when should we order corporate christmas gifts?

late september to mid-october is the safe window. hand-made runs fill their christmas capacity through november, and even stocked promo suppliers slow down as the season peaks. ordering earlier leaves more room for revisions on the mockup.

what's the minimum where branding pays off?

for missinghue it's 50 pieces. from 150 pieces we prepare an individual quote. below 50, the per-piece setup cost of a printed run stops making sense.

how does vat work when a company orders from another eu country?

between vat-registered businesses in different eu countries it's an intra-community b2b supply. we invoice with reverse charge and you account for vat in your own country. it's the standard process for eu-registered suppliers.

are there customs fees inside the eu?

no. the run is made and posted from inside the eu, so there's no customs paperwork and no import fee for a buyer in the union. the exception is the uk, where post-brexit import rules apply.

what's the difference between a corporate gift and promotional swag?

swag is brand exposure: a logo across the whole item, low unit cost, mass handout. a corporate gift is a gesture to a specific person: subtle branding or none, higher unit cost, a chosen object. people usually tell the two apart the moment they open it.

how many recipients actually use a promotional item?

in the ppai consumer study (2021, n = 5,674), 48.7% of recipients kept a promotional item longer than five years, but only in categories that fit a daily routine. 75% named usefulness as the main reason they held on to it.

is tyvek really recyclable?

yes. tyvek is high-density polyethylene, the same number 2 plastic used for milk bottles, and it's recyclable where number 2 is collected. it's water-resistant, tear-resistant and vegan. it feels like paper but it isn't paper.

how do i tell if a supplier is reselling asian dropshipping?

ask for the production address, not the company address. ask for a photo of the process or the studio. do the maths on the timeline: if someone promises custom print on 200 pieces in five days, the making is very likely in asia and only repackaged locally.
