ask us anything.
these are the questions we keep hearing from you. the practical ones, the awkward ones, the ones we wanted to answer properly instead of in a single line.

still wondering? just write us.what is tyvek? and why a wallet?
tyvek is the stuff hospitals use to keep things sterile. the sheet wrapping buildings before the bricks go on. the thing in those crinkly fedex envelopes you can't tear no matter how hard you try. it looks like paper, behaves like fabric, lasts like plastic. nasa has used it since apollo. so have hazmat crews, architects, and the people who package everything that absolutely cannot get wet.
i already have a wallet. why switch?
if your wallet works for you, keep it. this one makes sense when bulk is the problem: sitting on a wallet in your back pocket, digging through cards to find the one you want, or a lump in the front of your jeans. ours holds 8+ cards and your bills, and it goes into a small front trouser pocket too.
how many cards does it actually hold?
eight and more inside, plus one on the outer strap that you pull without opening the wallet. six to eight is the number it carries best at. twelve and more will go in as well, the folded layers just settle around that number and stay there. forcing twenty in isn't what it was designed for.
how thin is it really? what does it weigh?
empty it weighs 9 grams. in use, with cards and a few notes, around 30. on thickness it's 3 mm folded and 1.3 mm flat.
in practice that means it goes into a small front trouser pocket, which is the thing most people are actually asking about.
shipping. when does it land?
we dispatch within 24 hours. inside czechia shipping is free and usually takes two to three days. for the rest of europe both the price and the time depend on the carrier you pick at checkout, so you'll see the real numbers there before you pay. we put work into the packaging, so the unboxing should be worth something too.
do you ship outside europe?
right now we ship across all of europe with no fuss. if you're outside europe and really want one, write to us and we'll figure something out together. we love seeing one of ours land somewhere unexpected, it's one of the best parts of doing this.
can i track my order?
the carrier you pick at checkout handles tracking, not us. once the parcel leaves our studio, they send you their own link. most of them do, some just send a delivery window. inside czechia it's usually fast enough that you barely have time to refresh anyway.
what if i don't love it?
you send it back and we refund you. you have 14 days from delivery to withdraw from the purchase. you're free to try it the way you would in a shop; if it loses value through use beyond that, we can reduce the refund accordingly. return postage is on you. if you're unsure before ordering, write to us first.
what if something actually breaks? a real defect?
that's on us. if it's a manufacturing fault, the print peeled oddly, the fold isn't right, anything of that kind, send us a photo and we'll sort it out. material faults are covered by the statutory 24-month warranty. we fold every piece by hand, so we know something can go wrong, and we'd rather put it right than argue.
what if it gets wet or spilled on?
tyvek doesn't soak up water, so rain on the way home and coffee across your desk are both fine, you wipe the drops off and carry on. the cards inside stay dry. for a proper clean, hand-wash it gently and let it air dry. it doesn't belong in a washing machine, tempting as that sounds.
how long does it last? and what about wear?
think about your favourite jeans, the ones with soft creases in exactly the right places. that's how this wallet ages. how fast depends on how you carry it: with everyday use, around eight cards and kept dry, it holds its looks for years. if you overfill it, pull cards out all day, or take it through damp and salt, the print starts wearing sooner. šimon has carried his almost two years, every day in a pocket.
how do i clean it if it gets dirty?
the easy way. wipe it with a damp cloth, that handles most things. for something stickier, a little dish soap and water works. don't soak it in solvents and don't scrub it hard, just be gentle. one of the things we like about tyvek is how forgiving it is, you don't need a special product for it.
can i bring it back if it looks really worn out?
partly. you can't get it back to brand new, that's the trade-off with a material that keeps your story. if it's just dusty or a bit grey from years of pocket life, a careful clean usually brings most of the colour back. print that has already worn through doesn't come back.
650 kč for a wallet that looks like paper. seriously?
fair question, we'd ask it too. it isn't paper, it's tyvek. and among the thin wallets people compare us to, bellroy sits around €80, secrid €70 to €90 and ridge €75 to €120. ours is 650 kč, about €26. what you're paying for is the design the founder drew, the material behind it, and the fact that every piece is folded by hand in a prague studio rather than pressed out by the thousand.
is it really vegan? what about the glue, the inks, all of that?
yes, the whole thing. tyvek is synthetic fibre, so there's no animal anywhere in the material. the wallet is folded and glued rather than stitched, and we use no leather and no animal glue. when we say no animal suffers for it, we mean the whole wallet, not only the part you can see.
who is actually behind missinghue?
the founder. missinghue is a one-person brand in prague: the prints are drawn here, the designs that go into production are picked here, and the emails you send are answered here. the wallets are made by hand in the same prague studio. we're not a factory playing at being a small brand, we're actually small and we intend to stay that way.
i want to give one as a gift. can you wrap it?
yes, and it kind of comes that way already. every wallet ships in packaging we put real thought into, so the unboxing itself feels like part of the gift. if you want something extra (a handwritten note, a gift receipt without the price), just leave a comment at checkout or write us. we got you.
can my company order custom wallets with our logo?
yes, and it's actually one of our favorite things to do. minimum order is 50 pieces. you pick the design, we add your logo, your colors, your touch. perfect for onboarding gifts, client gifts, team merch, events. we did exactly this for investown's whole team and they still carry them.
how does the b2b process work?
simple. you write to us with what you have in mind, how many, when you need them, any design ideas. we send back a free mockup so you can see exactly what it'll look like. once you're happy, we make them by hand and ship them to you, or directly to your team. start to finish takes 2 to 4 weeks, depending on quantity and how custom you want to go.
