the founder carried someone else's tyvek wallet for five years and was content with it for most of that time, since it was light, fit in his front pocket, and didn't mind getting wet. it was only when the time came to replace it and he started looking for something new that he realised what had been quietly bothering him: bills had to be folded twice to fit, and the design was just black.

he was looking for one wallet that brought three things together at once - something thin, with room for flat bills, and a design worth keeping in a pocket - but nothing he came across did all three, and every wallet he found missed at least one.

and beyond that, he wanted more than what the market was offering at the time, the kind of small functional details no wallet then included. so instead of copying what was already out there, he started making his own, in a prague studio, by hand, with the features that had been missing all along.
