we don't think the world needs another wallet. it needs a better one.
so we made one.
how it started
before missinghue existed there was another tyvek wallet, and michal kališ, who went on to start the brand, carried it for five years, and for most of that time there was nothing to complain about, because it was light, it fit in a front pocket and rain never did it any harm.
the annoyances only surfaced when it wore out and the search for a replacement began. every banknote had to be folded twice before it would go in, and the design was black, which back then looked like the only thing anyone was offering. we wanted one wallet that managed three things at once: thin enough for a front pocket, room enough for a banknote lying flat, and a print worth pulling out in front of people. nothing on the market did all three.
so we started making our own, by hand, in a prague studio. michal drew all six prints himself, carries the samples until they either hold up or they don't, and decides which ones get printed. that is still how it works today.
it started with two rules. no animal suffers. everything is recyclable. these weren't nice-to-haves - they were the only way we'd do it.
then we found Tyvek®. a material built to protect buildings from weather. we thought - why not wallets? it's vegan, recyclable, and survives things leather can't. so we went all in.
we don't buy cheap and sell expensive. we source locally, make every piece ourselves, and ship only what's already wanted. it takes longer. it costs us more. but we sleep fine.
we didn't want to be boring. the world has enough beige wallets. every print is our own - designed, drawn, and dreamed up right here. bold colors, original art, something you'd actually be proud to pull out of your pocket.
designed. printed. folded.
by hand. in prague.
we built something we believe in. and we think you'll feel it the moment you hold it.
